Fayte stood on a cliff overlooking the fortress, the wind causing her hair to sway as she surveyed the land. She was high enough up that none of the enemy forces would see her unless they specifically looked up. There were several watchtowers, but they were focused on watching people coming from the pass.

“Are you ready?” asked Titania. She was the only one present right now. The others were down below, hidden far enough away that they wouldn’t get caught up in what was about to happen. Titania was here because of her buffing ability.

“Ready as I’ll ever be,” Fayte said.

“I am still not sure about this, but… well, it’s the safest option for us if not the environment,” Titania muttered. “Anyway, let us proceed.”

Titania began to sing the [Song of Vigor] to increase Fayte’s power. Whenever Titania used this song, it was always in the midst of battle, so Fayte had never noticed a change before. Now that she was not in the middle of combat, she could feel the song’s effects. Her body felt lighter, stronger, more powerful. She was certain she could take on anyone and anything.

This ability can be quite dangerous. I need to be careful not to become complacent.

Fayte raised her staff skyward, gathering her MP and sending it into the heavens. Far above her head, far above the planet’s atmosphere, deep within the stars, a celestial body began to move. It traveled in her direction, picking up speed, until it became a streaking comet that was visible even during the day. With no clouds in the sky, it was easy to see. However, none of her enemies saw it until it had broken through the atmosphere.

The first one to spot her attack was an ogre. It looked up just as the meteor broke through the atmosphere. Gesturing for one of his comrades, he pointed at the object falling from the sky, which caused a chain reaction in the others. It wasn’t long before all of her enemies looked up at the meteor. None of them realized it was heading for them until it was far too late.

The meteor with its blazing fire tail slammed into the ground. Upon impact, it delivered an explosion of elemental forces that demolished everything within the vicinity. Enemies were incinerated. The force tore through the forces, reducing the stone structure to mere debris. Even from her place up high and far away, the shockwave could be felt like a rumble that passed through her body. All that remained of the impact zone was a smoking crater.

Since her goal was to reduce Mephistopheles’s forces, she had not targeted the fortress itself, though the shockwave had damaged it greatly. They had decided Mephistopheles was probably powerful enough to not die from her attack. That being the case, her goal was to obliterate as much of the enemy as she could. Adam had also wanted the fortress to remain mostly intact since they could use it to establish a base.

Mephistopheles’s forces had
